Had just finished the walk to monkey beach when Glynis launched a vicious attack, slapping me across the face. I was reeling from this unprovoked onslaught and desperately trying to recall what I had done wrong.
Not happy with the situation, especially coming on top of the previous weeks peanut butter incident. Sure they had run out of crunchy but I still dont think that justifys turning to the smooth side.
Anyway the joke was on her because she unwittingly swotted a large mosquito that was innocently resting on my face.
Every time we do the walk we seem to get something different. Details so small they are easy to miss.
It can be a perilous journey. Sometimes we remove the safety net and take a leap of faith.
No need to wonder why it is named monkey beach. Look at the way they are slouching and that annoyed get out of here with your camera look. You always get to meet a few of these (note- I am referring to the bottom picture)
Of course if you take the other fork in the trail you will end up at the aptly named turtle beach. You don't get to see free range turtles but there is a conservation shed with turtles.
Still people swim at turtle beach. We always walk here and get the boat back. You can see the jelly fish in the water from the boat and I certainly would never risk being stung.
This gentlemen crossed our path one morning and we thought it better to give him right of way. We did not have a tape measure and Glynis seemed unwilling to lay next to him so I could judge his length.
